Help with MP3 (sermon) Files
The sermons are audio recordings in "MP3" files.
There are many ways to play MP3 files, but basically you need a computer with
speakers/headphones, audio capability, and a proper program to play the MP3
files. The MP3 format is very popular, and you should be able to play them on a
modern computer.
|
Depending on how your computer is configured, you may be able to play the
files by clicking on the links to the sermons, and you might hear them right
away or have to wait a while. Or, you might be prompted to choose what to do
with the MP3 file - save it, open it, or whatever. If you can't "open" it, or
get it to play from your browser, you might be able to "save" it to your hard
drive and play it, or download them into an MP3 player and listen to them while
you work or play!
The MP3's are large (2 to 7 Megabyte) files, which may
take a long time to download on a slow connection (like 4 to 22 minutes on a
fast 56K dial-up, or 10 to 50 seconds on a good broadband connection like DSL
or cable).
The sermons are about 15-30 minutes listening time.
If you get a "file not found..." or "Cannot find..." or "404..." sort of error
trying to download, for example
20050710Dobrer-Putting_Out_Fires.mp3
then use the absolute URL which is
http://www.uufullerton.org/sermons/20050710Dobrer-Putting_Out_Fires.mp3
|
| One of the many
programs that can play MP3 files is
Microsoft Windows Media Player.
