Need help with the Newsletter and PDF ??? PDF (Portable Document Format) files, like the Newsletter, may require a special program for viewing them, if you don't have one installed already. Once you have the right software, you should be able to view the file in your browser, or download it to your hard drive and open it. You can get a free Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader Program, for Windows, Mac, or Linux, at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html - this is, by far, the most popular program for viewing PDF files. If you have the Adobe Acrobat reader, but still have trouble with PDF files, see the most authoritative help site at http://www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html The newsletter is a large file, so it may take a long time to download with dialup or a slow internet connection. The size of the file may range from 200,000 bytes to over a megabyte (1,000,000 bytes). If you're a hard-core computer geek, you can get the free, open-sourced, multi-platform Ghostscript program (and get GSview for Windows, OS/2 and Linux, or MacGSView for the Mac). If all else fails, you can get a real paper copy of the newsletter at Church, on Sunday. |
