Crop Walk A Big Success!! It brought in a total of $55,092. $1,965 of that was raised by our congregation. We had 8 walkers. Thank you to all who participated and donated

May 5: Women's Wisdom Circle. Meet at 7 PM at the home of Barbara Keller. All women are welcome. Topic: Racism: Where does it come from?

de Benneville Pines Camp
May 9-11: Work Weekend at de Benneville Pines. Join in with other UUs to help beautify de Benneville Pines by working on maintenance projects while you enjoy yourself in the mountains. Contact Tom Thorward.

Rev. Dr. Marilyn Sewell gave the keynote address Weaving the Tapestry of Hope at the 2008 Pacific Southwest District Assembly of Unitarian Universalists in San Diego last weekend. How can we be instruments of hope and inspiration both for our own people and for the larger culture? May 6: Movie and Dinner with Rev. Jon Dobrer. The movie for this month is Under the Same Moon. See the movie on your own (click here for showtimes) and meet at 7 PM for dinner & discussion at Don Jose's at 1725 N. Placentia Av, Placentia. Contact Marlies Worley for dinner reservations.

May 10: FIES Fundraiser Dinner. "Food-Loving Guys, Raising Funds for FIES at the Astor Classics Museum". Our own Bill Bryant will be one of the 30 chefs! Tickets $50 per person. Preview the event site at www.astorclassics.com. Contact Doris Dressler-Clark

May 11: Adult Religious Education - 9 AM in the upstairs classroom . The topic is Why Phenomenalism is immoral from a Gnostic viewpoint, by Ed Tschabrun. Followed by a meeting to discuss future topics of interest for Adult R.E.

May 17: Unitarian Universalist Choral Festival. The Fullerton UU Church Choir will be performing at this festival at the Costa Mesa UU Church at 2:00 PM. See Judi Herz for more information.

May 25: The guest speaker will be Eleanor Ramrath Garner (mother of our member Jim Garner) who will talk about her personal memoir Eleanor's Story: An American Girl in Hitler's Germany, which has won 9 major awards. The story includes the bombings, evacuation, final battle for Berlin, and demonstrates the realization that even in the darkest times the heart can still dance, and hope never really dies.

May 27: Potluck with Rev. Jon Dobrer in the social hall at 5:30 PM and/or Salon Discussion at 6:30 PM. The topic will be: The way ahead for our Church

June 1 is the new date for the Religious Education Tree Planting Ceremony at Carbon Canyon Regional Park. There will be no RE program at Church that day. Contact Susan Perlson

Sept. 27: A Celebration of Rumi at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets go on sale in May. Experience Persian mystic poet Rumi through the music of Iran and beyond, with the finest Persian musicians, special guest Yo-Yo Ma, and whirling dervishes. We would like to get a group together to carpool and picnic at the bowl. Contact Lesley Mahaffey.
