Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the legal representative of the congregation and oversees the work of UUCF in between our Annual Congregational meetings. Eight members serve staggered 2-year terms. No trustee may serve for more than three (3) full terms in succession and may not serve again as trustee for a period of two (2) years. For more information: UUCFBoard@uufullerton.org.
Meetings:
Board meetings are usually held every first Sunday at 1:00pm after the Service. The board typically meets in the Choir Room. If the meeting day/time is changed, it will be noted in the calendar and that week’s announcements. If you want to attend on Zoom, please notify the board 3-4 days prior to the meeting so we can set up the equipment. Meetings are open to all. To request time on the board meeting agenda, please email uucfboardpresident@gmail.com 3-4 days prior to the meeting.

Board of Trustees Covenant
Adopted August 23, 2025
1. We agree to treat ourselves with the patience and respect we all deserve, remembering that we are humans with varied experiences.
We will remind ourselves that we are worthy and competent individuals, but also that we can’t do it all.
We will communicate when we need help or when something feels like it is beyond our abilities.
2. We agree to treat each other with grace, integrity, and open heartedness.
We pitch in to the extent of our abilities.
We work as a team, and so we will care for each other, recognizing our interdependence.
3. We agree to prioritize community building and spiritual care.
This is sacred ground, where we do the work of our faith.
We will show up prepared and focused to the best of our ability and take the time for breaks when we need them.
4. We will prepare for meetings ahead of time, stick to our set meeting times to the best of our ability, and maintain confidentiality, but not secrecy.
We will encourage timely, accurate and thorough communication of decisions to the congregation.
We are free to express our boundaries and trust that they will be respected.
We understand the roles and responsibilities of the board of trustees, the committees and the minister.
5. We create a goal oriented, forward looking space where we encourage growth.
We agree that conflict is to be expected, we appreciate the varied experiences of the board and we will talk through differences.
6. We recognize that we will mess up sometimes.
When this happens, we agree to take the time to debrief, clarify what happened, apologize, learn from mistakes, and make changes to our processes.
We will use positive and non-blaming language and utilize "I" statements to discuss our mistakes.
We will return to this covenant and to our values as Unitarian Universalists and use mistakes to grow and change.

The Covenant of Good Relations
UUCF adopted this Covenant of Good Relations by a unanimous congregational vote. This statement represents our commitment to building a healthy, safe community.
Each member of the congregation, Board of Trustees, clergy and paid staff will live within this Covenant of Good Relations in the context of their relationship with one another and the church community. The well-being, strength, and reputation of our church depend on a sense of fellowship which thrives in an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.
In my interactions with others I will:

-
Be receptive, listening with care and compassion.
-
Be truthful, speaking with care and compassion.
-
Speak directly to any person(s) with whom I have a concern.
-
Be respectful of personal boundaries.
-
Expect that there will be differences among us and accept and care for one another despite those differences.
-
Be committed to the group as a whole, honoring our connection with the Unitarian Universalist tradition.
-
Engage with gentleness and respect when times are uncertain and do my part to sustain this covenant.
