Sunday Morning Volunteers
Thank you for volunteering for our Sunday morning ministries!
We want our Sunday morning experience to feel welcoming to everyone who comes through the doors (or on Zoom) at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Fullerton -- and we need your help to make that happen!
Thank you for your interest in the Greeter Ministry. Greeting is one of the most important opportunities for service that we have at UUCF. Greeters make a ‘first impression’ because they are one of the very first people that guests, visitors, friends and members meet each Sunday when they walk into UUCF. We take great pride in practicing the fragile art of hospitality, and it begins with a warm welcome from our greeters. Greeters help set up the Welcome Table Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. Stay for coffee hour and get to know all those wonderful people you greeted.
Anyone can be a greeter! If you are interested in joining the greeting team and want to know more about what it entails, contact Linda Duarte-Wolf or call/text 714-904-8250.

Help create a welcoming space, greeting our visitors and showing them ways to plug into our community.
Greet members, guests and visitors as they arrive, paying special attention to newcomers. This is the primary responsibility of the Welcome Table volunteer.
Welcome table volunteers set up at 11:00 AM and are available before and after the service. After service, you help put everything away.
If you are interested in joining the Welcome Table team and want to know more about what it entails, contact Linda Duarte-Wolf or call/text 714-904-8250.

This team of volunteers spring into action at 11:15am to set up the sanctuary for our 11:30am service. Jobs include setting the “stage” with banners, podium, decorations, and some chairs. After the service, we put it all away. This is a great hands-on way to help out. If you are interested in joining this team, speak to Thomas Contreras.
Already on the team and want to check the schedule? You’ll find it here.
Our congregation needs singers familiar with the UU hymnals to lead the morning hymns during worship. Speak with Christina Garner about joining the team.

It takes quite a bit of technology to run our worship service. Members of our tech team set up mics, and run sound, lights, and PowerPoint slides during the service. (Not all at the same time, though!) We stream the service live on Zoom and Facebook with an impressive multi-cam set-up. Streaming is a more advanced skill and requires some intensive training. Maybe this tech stuff comes easily to you. But even if all you know how to do is hit NEXT SLIDE on PowerPoint, we can train you for what is required.
Harry Langenbacher is the Team Leader. We periodically offer training when needed.

We want our Sunday morning experience to feel welcoming to everyone who comes through the doors (or on Zoom) at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Fullerton — and we need your help to make that happen! Each Sunday our Hospitality crew sets out coffee before service on the beverages cart. If there is no coffee pre-prepared, the crew needs to make the coffee. Additionally, after service the Hospitality crew makes sure there are tables and chairs for the Social Hour so a small amount of muscle is required. If you are interested in joining the Coffee and Snacks team, contact Patrick Mannion. This is a great hands-on way to get involved.

We enjoy a social hour after the service. It’s a delicious way to mingle with others on a Sunday morning. If you would like to provide baked goods, snacks (homemade or store bought), fruit, cookies or anything else, please contact Rosie Walcek on any Sunday. You may drop them off in the kitchen by 10:45am.
If you are interested in Social Action/Justice, well, you are in the right place! UUCF Social Action Committee is always involved in living out our shared values, whether it’s participating in local protests and demonstrations or providing food for a fundraising dinner or bake sale.
Debbie Langenbacher leads this intrepid group of activists. Check back here frequently, and you can see what’s up next that needs volunteers, or contact Debbie Langenbacher
If feeding hungry people is your thing, join Barry Burriesci on the first Wednesday of every month to provide a hot meal for hungry people in our community. The meal is free and open to any/all community members, particularly guests who may be experiencing food insecurity, loneliness or are houseless.
This monthly meal is offered in conjunction with First Christian Church of Fullerton. Our volunteers help with cooking, setup, cleanup, serving, and security monitoring. Cooking duty lasts from 3:00 - 5:30pm, all other duties from 5:30 - 7:00pm.
Interested? Speak to Barry Burriesci.
Each Sunday our RE classroom needs some extra hands to help our youth create works of art, learn about our UU values, and navigate a classroom setting. Volunteers can help with our teens, elementary, or preschool age children. Show up as you are and you'll be a great help to our classroom teachers. No experience or kiddos necessary. Don’t worry, there will always be a staff member with you who is “in charge.” Just come and have fun with us!

We occasionally have fellowship dinners, memorial services, or other special events that require some muscle moving tables and chairs before and after. Cleaning up after a dinner is extremely important since we share the Fellowship Hall space with another group that uses the building the next morning.
If you are the type of person we can call for a short-term volunteer opportunity, please add your name and number to this list here. Contact Mark Umbriaco and he will be in touch for the next event.
Circle Suppers are monthly gatherings in congregants’ homes that allow people to get to know each other better in a smaller, more intimate setting. A Circle Supper host offers their home for dinner and generally provides the main course. The host determines the number of guests they can accommodate. The other attendees will bring an appetizer, salad, side dish, and dessert to share. The host ultimately decides what is needed.
Linda Summers and Jean Liao coordinate the gatherings and assign guests to the available hosts each month. Speak to them about hosting an upcoming Circle Supper.
Opportunities to host a Family Circle Supper are available monthly. Carter Rakovski coordinates the sign-ups for Hosts and Attendees.
If you want to check the schedule or sign-up to host or attend, you’ll find it here.
Not sure what you can volunteer for but would like to be called to help out when needed?
