UU Women in History-Sunday Adult Religious Exploration Class 07/26/26

Women have always been essential figures in the history of the Unitarian and  Universalist churches. 

However, their contributions have often been overlooked. Rev. Dr. Dorothy Emerson of the Unitarian Church of Rhode Island suggests that "this is primarily due to broad societal patriarchal norms that favored the documentation of male leaders, theologians, and historical figures. In religious and secular histories alike, women's narratives have often been sidelined or absorbed into the stories of male-led institutions". 

Join us for a review and discussion of 10 influential UU women from the 19th and 20th centuries. You may be surprised to learn of their accomplished lives.
